10+1 Things to do in New York

9. Aritzia

This store is located in SoHo and I love their amazing fashion. The house brand as well as some designer clothing let my fashion heart melt. The price ranges vary but they also have an amazing sale in the back of the store. I especially love them for their Citizens of Humanity jeans and their great TNA sweaters and tops. Just check it out, it is definitely worth it!

New York Summer Day

NYC Fashionista

I love Paul & Joe. I know it's more of a summer outfit but I couldn't help but dream of sunshine and September in NYC. I like that the dress is appropritate for both a fancy dinner or just a shopping trip on Madison. If you're not so much into wearing High Heels while shopping (which I totally understand), the dress also looks amazing with some cute flats (I love to wear my Tory Burch croc flats on nice summer days). Simple, cute and stylish!

8. New York High Line

The New York High Line is one of my ultimate New York City favorite places to go. It is part of the hot district Meatpacking and definitely a one of a kind experience. New Yorkers refer to the elevated park as The Garden in the Sky. Running through the West Side of the district, the park is a well frequented place. You can bring your book and relax in one of the comfy deck chairs or just enjoy the amazing oceanfront. The only problem: If the weather is nice and you want to get hold of a seat, you have to be really lucky. I’ve been there a bunch of times and they were always taken. Also a lot of photo shootings take place here, some young designers sell their unique pieces and during summer you can enjoy a fresh Italian sherbet from one of the numerous sales booths.

What to wear...

Earlier today I talked about my favorite restaurant in New York City: Ajna Bar - which is such an amazing location! My personal fashion favorite for an evening there is simple, chic and glamorous. I also really like combining unusual tights with black basics and found my love for adding at least one bright colored piece of clothing or accessory to my outfit. This is my favorite styling idea and - believe it or not - the dress is less expensive than the pair of tights! ;)

7. Ajna Bar

I know that I've already mentioned a few restaurants buuuut THIS I my all-time favorite restaurant in Manhattan. Formerly known as The Buddha Bar, this restaurant offers a unique mixture of Asian and French cuisine. My New Yorker friend Afsaneh took me there and it has become our tradition to always spend our last evening in New York here. The atmosphere there is wonderful – insulated light, candles, lounge character. You must love this place! You really should try my favorite appetizer: The Filo Spun Tiger Shrimp with sweet chili vinaigrette - yumm!

When I spend a nice evening with friends at a fancy restaurant I always go for a LBD. To make this simple look more classy and chic, I add a bright purple (almost blue) clutch I purchased at Henri Bendel and my Eli Tahari flats. Since they go with almost every outfit and bring glamour to your styling, I also love to combine these accessories with leggings or 7 for all mankind skinny jeans.

10+1 Things to do in New York

7. The Plaza Food Hall

Another great restaurant that I love for lunch is The Plaza Food Hall. It is located in the basement of the famous and exclusive Plaza Hotel on 5th Avenue. Unfortunately you cannot make any reservations. Therefore you have to wait up to 30 minutes around lunch time. But still: This is a must on your trip to the Big Apple! The variety of food is unbelievable. The big hall is built up of food points for sushi, brick oven pizza, pasta, sea food and dessert. They also offer an amazing selection of wines and cocktails. Me and my friends discovered this place by (a lucky!) accident. It was pouring outside and due to our growling stomachs, we decided to go to the nearest restaurant, which was (in accordance with the Louis Vuitton City Guide) The Oak Room (which is also located in the Plaza). Sadly it was closed and so we found ourselves in the 2010 opened Plaza Food Hall – what a lucky coincidence! I also made some celebrity sightings in here: Fashion designer and stylist Rachel Zoe and her family were sitting right next to me!

Hot Mustard

Hot Mustard

I've never been a big fan of the color yellow and to be honest: there wasn't a single piece of it in my closet. Until now! It has even become one of my new favorite colors. I love to wear it with red, blue and black clothing and accessories.
