Christmas Nails

For the snowflake I used a french manicure white with a small brush by KIKO, the red colored nail polish with a hint of glitter is one of my absolute favourites: 'After Sex' by Essie and for the ring finger I used a gold glitter nail polish called 'West End Wonderland' by Butter London. What is your favourite Christmas nail design and where do you get your inspiration from?

Today's Outfit

Winter is finally here and it's definitely one of my favourite times of the year. I just love wearing cardigans, sweaters and everything cosy and warm! But every year I find myself getting a little bored with the sweater/jeans combination. So for a change my outfit of the day includes a black pleated skirt from Zara (I purchased it last year), a black coarse knit Gina Tricot cardigan, black tights and one of my absolute favourite pieces: a cream-colored blouse with studded collar from nastygal.com. What's your favorite winter outfit?

Everyday essentials

So the other day I was looking through my handbag and realised that I almost never go out without a few (for me) essential things. What do you carry around in your bag every day?

1. A good book is definitely one of my must haves when I'm travelling or go into town. Is there anything better than lounging around at Starbucks with your favorite book? My current favourite is 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' by Stephen Chbosky.

2. Balea mini deodorant ($2)

3. Tory Burch patent leather purse, which I bought at Bloomingdales 1.5 years ago. Still in love with it and the quality is top-notch! ($150)

4. Last summer I purchased a lot of new make-up from the Sephora own-brand and I highly recommend their products! I either use the Sephora matifying compact foundation ($20) or the liquid foundation (6, $22). The Chanel mascara ($35) is another of my beauty basics at the moment, although I personally think that the Diorshow mascara is better for fuller lashes.

5. MAC blush brush (special edition, $40): Although a MAC brush costs around 35-70 Euro, it is definitely worth the purchase. So soft and I'm pretty sure it's an investment for a long long time!

7. Lolita Lempicka and Aura by Swarovski (came with my Glossybox), hand-mirror by Marc Jacobs (which was only 7$!!)

8.  Burt's Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Cream (which I also use for my lips), YES to carrots lip butter (my absolute favourite for dry lips, also available as melon, berry, citrus and mint!), MAC hot pink lipstick for instant glamour effect ($22)

9. Sephora liquid eyeliner ($12)

10. Florena macadamia hand lotion for dry hands ($5) and OF COURSE a bit of chocolate because who doesn't love chocolate? ;)

Much love,
Franzi

Kardashians for Dorothy Perkins

Last saturday the famous Kardashian sisters Khloe, Kim and Kourtney launched their new fashion line for the British fashion label Dorothy Perkins in London. The best part: Dressing like the it-girls themselves doesn't have to be super expensive! Purses and accessories cost around 25 pounds; dresses, skirts, bags, blazers, blouses, tops (and a lot more!) vary from 25 to 75 pounds. Sassy leopard prints, satin tops and lace details characterize the collection and are -in my opinion- exactly what I expected from the three fashionistas! One of the highlights of the collection launch in London was most definitely the presentation of the clothing line by about 20 Kardashian look-alikes. No surprise that once again the three sisters managed to take the cake - well done girls!

Ombre/Dip Dye Nails

Ombre nails are one of the latest fashion trends when it comes to nail art. It's a perfect match to any outfit because it can be done with more decent as well as brighter colours. For today's post I used Essie 'Off the Shoulder' (223A), 'Bikini so teeny' (219A) and a KIKO basecoat/topcoat. It takes a little time at first, but as soon as you figure out the technique, it gets easier and easier. All you need besides the colors of your choice is a makeup sponge (or sponge of any kind), Q-Tips and nail polish remover

Here are the steps:

1. Apply basecoat

2. Apply the lighter color of the two colors you chose for the dip dye and let it dry
3. Take the thinner side of the sponge, apply lines of both colors and press on each of your nails (you may do that 2-3 times on each nail to get the desired effect)

4. Remove nail polish around your nails (there's almost no way to get it done without having nail polish on your fingers)

5. When the color is completely dry, apply topcoat

And of course you can use more than two colours! Have fun trying it! -xoxo

Street Style

Street Style

Studded jeans jackets are my current favourite fashion piece. The best part is: You can make them yourself! Just order studs via ebay and decorate your jeans jacket, if you already have one and don't want to invest in a (most likely) expensive new studded one. You cannot only save money, but also you have your own, unique piece of clothing.
Did anyone try to make their own yet?

I hope everyone is having a great week!!

Pink Summer

Pink Summer

Although the summer in Germany isn't exactly what you would call 'a perfect summer', I put together this summery outfit. A girl's allowed to dream, right? ;)
Enjoy!

Dip Dye Hair

I've become a big fan of dip dyed hair ever since celebrities like Jesse James, Avril Lavigne, Selena Gomez or Demi Lovato started rocking this trendy look.

From using just one color to dying your hair in multiple colors - there's various ways to follow the trend! Pink, red, blue, purple or orange - What's your favourite and would you ever dip dye your hair?
For those who are too scared to try and don't want to dye their hair permanently in one or more of those fancy colours, there's help! Hair stylist Kevin Murphy came up with the idea of the "color bug", which is a hair chalk product that washes off easily. It's $28 and available via www.hagelshop.de.

Of course I tried the color bug and here's the result:

Altogether, I think it's a great product to use for a special occasion, but it's also quite expensive considering that after I only used it once, it's almost empty. Also the colour comes off easily and so the result is not very long-lasting. Nevertheless, I would recommend it, just because it's easy to apply and looks great! :)

It's been a while...

... since my last post, but I've been pretty busy with university lately and haven't had the time to put my heart and soul into this website as I used to. So for all my fashion obsessed readers: here's some new inspiration. Enjoy! :) xxx
