10+1 Things to do in New York

11. The Market NYC
Last but not least - The Market NYC! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! It used to be in Mulberry Street  but since this summer it has a new location in Meatpacking District (which makes it even more visit-worthy). Young designers sell their mostly handmade jewelry in a flea market atmosphere. Besides necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets, the market also includes women’s and men’s wear, shoes, vintage fashion and much more. I’ve bought a few unique pieces of jewelry here and later found them in the big stores on 5th Avenue (to which the young designer’s also sell their creations) for almost twice the price. The best thing: If you actually like something but just a specific little detail (like the color of a pendant) is not exactly what you were looking for – most of the designers are willing to change it right there for you! Where else do you get that kind of VIP treatment? Definitely a MUST SEE place and one of my best discoveries in the city so far. For more information just visit themarketnyc.com.
Here are my best finds:
I love to wear these chandelier earrings with a LBD. Unfortunately they are really fragile and therefore a little out of shape. But I already wore them like a thousand times, so the $70 purchase was definitely worth it!

I'm really into combining brown and orange this year. Bought these from a young asian designer for $35 a piece. When I went to Henri Bendel one week later, I saw the exact same jewelry there for $80!

Actually I got this one from a woman who was selling her jewerly right in front of the old location of the Designer's Market. $35

I really loved these bracelets because I'm in love with their Hermès style. Also love the combination of gold and orange. $10 each
